SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy lifts off on historic pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center for the Air Force’s STP2 mission. This photo is taken just after stage separation. The surreal effects are caused by the gases of the Stage 1 boostback burn colliding with the gasses of the second stage engine in the vacuum of space.
